A self-supported expedition of this scale requires equipment ready for all conditions and environments. That’s where VALLON comes in.

Oli completes the South America leg: From Laguna Del Carbón to Aconcagua

"After 13 days of shuttling kit up the mountain, acclimatising and waiting for a weather window, my climbing partner Mike and I reached the summit of Aconcagua.

While not a technical climb, Aconcagua is a serious high-altitude mountain with a typical summit success rate of just 30%. We pushed hard, counting steps, our lungs pumping and searching for oxygen. Once we reached the summit, we stood above the endless surrounding mountains of the Andes. An incredible feeling.

The expedition has been filled with diverse challenges: long empty roads, blazing desert heat, 49mph headwinds on the bike, then the demands of the arid and windswept mountain where the summit never seemed to get any nearer.

Every day, Vallon had me covered. I wore my Watchtowers during the ride, before switching to Heron Glacier, with the Freebirds goggles taking me up to the freezing summit. A big thank you to all the team at Vallon for having my back on this expedition!"

UPDATE FROM THE MOUNTAIN | May 2024

Oli France becomes the first person this century to successfully travel by human power from Death Valley to the summit of Mount Denali!

In an astonishing feat of endurance and determination, adventurer Oli France has successfully traveled from Death Valley to Denali, entirely by human power. Beginning in the sweltering heat of Death Valley, Oli cycled through diverse and challenging terrains, covering 3,588 miles in a staggering 64 days.

In Alaska he transitioned to hiking boots, and then touring skis, tackling the rugged landscapes of Denali National Park - choosing to follow the less-worn path covering 120km by skis to the base of Mount Denali.

The final leg of his journey was the arduous ascent of Mount Denali, known for unpredictable weather, freezing temperatures and gruelling conditions. He and his carefully selected team carried out an unguided ascent to successfully reach the summit, rounding off a journey that Oli had dreamt of for over a decade. Oli’s journey, marked by resilience and sheer willpower, stands as a testament to the extraordinary capabilities of human endurance and spirit.
