Luxury eyewear frames are often made from cellulose acetate as it is a lightweight material that produces a high-quality finish. It can be hand cut, shaped and polished into various styles and shapes.

Cellulose acetate is a superior material to injection moulded plastic materials for various reasons. As a non-petroleum based material (made from wood pulp or cotton) it is an eco-friendly choice, resistant to becoming brittle, and has flexible qualities that give your sunglasses maximum longevity, and a better fit. It is also hypoallergenic making it perfect for long standing comfort against skin irritation.

TR90®

TR90® was designed for use in Formula 1 as an ultra lightweight, flexible and strong thermoplastic. It is becoming increasingly popular in the manufacturing of eyewear frames because of these qualities, but in addition, it is hypoallergenic and has good heat resistance - reducing the chance of your frames becoming deformed from heat exposure.

The flexibility of TR90® makes it the ideal material for the temple ends of our Heron side shield sunglasses. These are designed to be fully adjustable behind your ear so you can find the most secure fit for all-day comfort.

Recycled nylon-6

Our most sustainable frame material, this recycled nylon-6 is produced from 85% recycled fishing nets, and was designed for performance products across the automotive, electronics, footwear, snowboard industry. We are excited to be working at the forefront, using this new lower carbon footprint material for eyewear.

The key advantages of this nylon-6 polyamide material are its lightweight quality, excellent durability, and flexibility across a wide range of temperatures. It really is perfect for creating high quality sports eyewear.

TPU

TPU stands for Thermoplastic Polyurethane which characteristically behaves like plastic and rubber giving it great strength, durability, and flexibility in a range of temperatures and climates.

These qualities make TPU ideal for use in a wide variety of industries and consumer goods, such as frames for ski and snow goggles. Furthermore it has brilliant scratch, impact, and oil/grease resistance, keeping a high polish finish to your goggles, even after good use.
