What sets VALLON's V52® lenses apart is their excellent optical clarity. Lens clarity is defined by ABBE value which measures the chromatic aberration of a lens. The higher the ABBE value, the greater the clarity of the lens.

Performance lenses should not be made of mineral (glass) as they are vulnerable to shattering. That’s why our eyewear is produced with nylon polyamide or polycarbonate lenses which carry shatter resistant and shatterproof qualities.

Made from a durable nylon polyamide with an ABBE value of 52, VALLON V52® lenses have the highest clarity of any sports lenses on the market - keeping your eyes protected from UV rays, debris and breakages, while also providing excellent optical vision.

100% UV Protection

To maximise vision in all light environments, the human eye needs a combination of a little pure blue light, and a lot of UVA/UVB protection. A little blue light helps our eyes perceive contrast, but in excess is damaging to our eyes. The same way we protect our skin from the sun, our eyes need protection to keep them in good long-term health. This is why we see 100% UV protection as a non-negotiable for all VALLON eyewear products, and our V52® lenses offer 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Polarized versus Non-Polarized Lenses

It is a common misnomer that polarized lenses are better, or that polarization signifies a better quality lens. Polarization filters are an excellent addition to lenses for certain environments and sports, such as those taking place on or near water. However, in snowy and icy conditions, polarization is a visual inhibitor. VALLON V52® lenses come in both polarized or non-polarized versions.
